With the new year comes those three wonderful things - Snow, Wind and Taxes!
The Prospect Heights Library is providing tax forms online this year. We will carry reproducable copies of the most popular federal forms however. We should have those on hand by mid-February.
All Federal forms and publications are available online at www.irs.gov. It is a well constructed site and easy to use. Simply type the form you need in the search box! You can also call 1-800-829-3676 to order forms by telephone.
Illinois State forms are also online at http://www.revenue.state.il.us/taxforms/index.htm. This is another excellent website that has specific sections for personal, business or other types of forms. You can also call 1-800-356-6302 to order forms by telephone.
If you need forms from other states, all the pertinent links are at http://www.taxadmin.org/fta/link/forms.html. Just click on the desired state.
Most other taxing agencies will have their forms online as well.
AARP also provides free tax assistance. Click here to find the location nearest you.
And remember, if you need help locating a particular form or publication, library staff will be happy to help you.
