Access our new Library Catalog by choosing Catalog > Our Catalog from the main menu at the left of our homepage at www.phpl.info, or go to the catalog directly at http://phpl.bibliocommons.com.
Logging in the first time:
The first time you log in, enter your
USERNAME - your 14-digit library card number (no spaces) and your
PASSWORD - either the word PATRON or the password you created in the previous catalog.
BIRTHDAY - This information is not required, but if you decide not to provide it the system will assume you are a minor and will restrict your catalog access.
Create a Username and Enter your Email address:
Choose any unique username you like, keeping in mind that it will be associated with any content you add. You'll use this to log in instead of needing your library card number.
Change Your Password:
Click on Account Settings at the top of the screen and complete the Change Password form. This will help protect your account and your privacy.
My PHPLD:
Click on My PHPLD to see and renew the materials you have checked out. You can check the status of your holds and view any fines you may have accumulated by clicking Holds or Fines. If you do have fines, you'll be able to pay them online.
Search the Catalog:
Choose the type of search (author, title, etc.), enter your terms, and click the search button. You can further narrow your results using the options along the left-hand side of the page, such as audience, genre, or format. You can even limit your search to what's available now in the Library.
Privacy:
The new catalog also allows you to share with other patrons, if you wish. You can add content like summaries, tags, and ratings, or make lists and keep track of your "shelves." By default, your reviews, lists, and shelves will be publicly viewable unless you change your settings. We recommend that after creating your account you read about Privacy, under My PHPLD, Privacy, and select the privacy settings that you prefer.
