In early 2010 the United States Census will be taken. It is most important that
each resident of our country be counted. Here, as in all cities, we benefit from the $300 billion dollars in Federal & State revenues distributed each year by the "Correct Count" of residents living in our city.
Census workers will be going door to door but will not visit every home in the country. If you are visited, be sure the worker has the proper identification before you answer any questions. Each Census worker will have a Census badge, a hand-held device, a canvas bag and a confidentiality notice. Request to see all of these first. You are not required to invite the worker into your home.
DO NOT give out personal information such as Social Security, credit card or bank account numbers. This information is not required.
Census forms will arrive in early April. If you plan to be away in April, please call Edlyn at 847-398-6070 ext. 206 and request that a Prospect Heights Census form be mailed to you. Do not fill out a form from another city--it won't be counted towards Prospect Heights.
Thank you, your city depends on your help in getting our correct count.
